The incident, which took place in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, saw a 66-year-old man, Terry Mitchell, running over and killing his wife Debra on the spot.

The sordid incident took place on Valentine’s day at 3pm. Debra had alighted from the vehicle and was heading to the back of the car when she apparently fell to the ground in what the police are speculating was due to a medical condition.

This put her out of view and Terry, trying to back out of the driveway thinking the coast was clear, ran over her, killing her.

Debra was pronounced dead at the scene and the police are ruling the incident as an accident.

However, the general public, greatly saddened by the death of Debra, is not buying this explanation and is speculating there’s more to it than meets the eyes, as can be seen from the comments trailing this story on a few platforms. There are mixed reactions on the incident with some hinting the incident was probably premeditated:

“Even if this was an accident the husband will blame and second guess himself for the rest of his life. My heart goes out to him and their loved ones.”

        Kathy

“Detective Colombo says, “one thing gots me confused, I can see how you could mistakenly back over your wife, but I don’t understand how you went forward then back over her again!”

             C.C

“Something seems fishy. Did she not scream when she fell, or when he started backing up? I wonder if a girlfriend will be discovered, or if this really is just a tragic accident? Valentine’s Day will never be the same for him.”

            J.G

“It’s Probably a Valentine day gift for his girl friend.”

        Just for Laughs

“It’s always an accident, until the million dollar life insurance policy surfaces. I’ve seen this episode on Discovery.”

     Jeffrey Lebowski

“I don’t want to think badly about him, but I think I’ll wait and see if his story is true or winds up on Investigation Discovery where they tell how he murdered his wife to be with his new girlfriend. It wouldn’t be the first time someone did.”

          Dylan

“Yeah “Accidentally”
How long does it take the wife’s insurance policy to come in the mail again?”

          Icy Moon

“What happened to the days where you just break up before valentine’s day to avoid buying a gift?”

FlyingFlip

“I don’t want to think badly about him, but I think I’ll wait and see if his story is true or winds up on Investigation Discovery where they tell how he murdered his wife to be with his new girlfriend. It wouldn’t be the first time someone did.”

Dylan

“Yeah, right. It was just an accident. Hope there’s some surveillance footage”
