I stumbled upon a blog posts a few years back with lots of beauty hacks for women and of course, I saved a lot of these hacks with the intention of practising them.

That post taught me a lot, especially beauty hacks for skin, for hair, for face and for makeup.

These beauty hacks have been a regular part of my life and like most hacks, have simplified my life as well as increased my productivity.

I thought to share these beauty hacks with you guys and today, this blog post is going to be discussing the following beauty hacks for women:

Beauty hacks for skin are some of the easiest beauty hacks you can think of and every woman should know these.

These hacks will jot just give you a smooth, well-hydrated and glowing skin, but will also ensure skin blemishes and irritations are far from you.

Here are a few of these beauty hacks for skin you can easy adopt:

1.Wash Your Face Twice Daily

This might seem like a really basic beauty hack, but it is quite effective. You see, at every given time, we are picking up dirt, germs and bacteria from the atmosphere and these end up clogging your skin pores, making you prone to acne or pimple breakout.

To combat this, you should wash your face twice daily, with the option of a mild toilet soap.

May I issue a note of caution here so you don’t make the same mistake I did when I first started out on this beauty hack. Learning how effective this hack can be, I wanted some quick results and so, took to washing my face every two or three hours.

The result was my face getting stripped of moisture to become dry and irritated. To compensate, my face ended up producing more oil leading to the pimple breakout I was initially trying to prevent.

You should wash your face in the mornings and only at night or t any other times that feel convenient for you.

2.Exfoliate Once a Week

This is another beauty hacks for ladies you shouldn’t joke with. Why? Because it gives your face and skin that glow that’s easily noticeable.

Exfoliation is a process of removing old, dead skin cells from the surface of your skin to allow for a fresher skin to show through.

Dermatologists recommend exfoliating a maximum of three times weekly and a minimum of once. For me, I exfoliate once a week and this is enough to keep my skin looking ‘glowy’ all week long.

In starting out, I wouldn’t worry about what frequency to stick with as once you get it under way, you will soon discover and settle with the number of times that’s just right for you.

How to Exfoliate

To exfoliate, you can choose to get an over-the-counter exfoliation scrub or make one yourself. If going for the later, here are a few exfoliation scrub recipe you can choose from:

Recipe One

  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Lavender or Tea Tree Oil


1.Combine all ingredients in a bowl until well mixed.

2.Using your palm, apply the mixture over your face, neck and shoulder in a circular form.

3.Do this for a minute and then wash off with a mild soap.

Recipe Two

  • 2 Tablespoons Ground Oatmeal
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey
  • 10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 Drops Chamomile Essential Oil


1.Again, combine all ingredients in a bowl until well mixed.

2.Using your palm, apply the mixture over your face, neck and shoulder in a circular form.

3.Do this for a minute and then wash off with a mild soap.

Recipe Three

  • 2 Large Chunks Pawpaw
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil


1.Mash the pawpaw in a bowl until soft.
2.Next, add in your granulated sugar and olive oil and stir oil.
3.Apply this over your face, neck and shoulder in a circular motion and rinse off after a minute.

Beauty Hacks for Skin Blemishes

1.Eliminate Pimples Using Colgate Toothpaste

Apply a small amount of Colgate
toothpaste on top of the pimple and let it sit overnight. The pimple is usually gone by morning and you can wash whatever’s left of the toothpaste.

2.Beauty Hacks for Other Skin Blemishes

Apply tomato paste over the affected area and massage this into your skin for 2-3 minutes. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash off.

Alternatively, apply shea butter over the skin for 10-20 minutes and then wash off. You may need to also apply lemon juice immediately as shea butter has been known to darken a few people.
Yet another beauty hack for skin blemishes is to apply egg white over the affected area. Let this sit for 10-20 minutes and then wash off using a mild soap.

3.Use a Sunscreen Everytime You Step Out of Your House

The sun has very damaging UVA and UVB rays that cause skin dryness, premature wrinkles and even skin cancer. To stay protected, apply a sunscreen over your skin every time you step out of your house, even on cloudy days as this UV rays have been known to also penetrate clouds.

Choose a sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30 as anything less might be ineffective.

1 Large Avocado Peer
3 Tablespoons Honey
2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt
1 Tablespoon Coconut or Olive Oil


1.Mash avocado in a bowl until soft.
2.Add your Greek yogurt, coconut oil and honey into the bowl and stir until all is mixed.
3.Dampen hair and section to make it easier to apply the treatment. Next, apply this protein treatment from your hair root to the tips.
4.Keep hair covered in a shower cap and let the treatment sit for 20-30 minutes.
5.Wash off and condition hair.

Protein Treatment for Relaxed Hair

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil


1.Break egg into a bowl and whisk.

2.Next, stir in other ingredients and continue stirring until well mixed.

4.Dampen and section hair, then apply the treatment to your hair.

5.Wear a shower cap to give a little heat and let the treatment sit for 20-30 minutes before washing off.

A Little Caution

While protein treatments are great for increasing volume, doing it too often can have the reverse effect as too much protein can stiffen your hair strands, making it brittle.

So how often should you do a protein treatment? Hair specialists recommend once every 4-6 weeks or at most twice a month.
